Challenge
Given the site’s location within the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site and the West Greenwich Conservation Area, it was important to adhere to stringent conservation guidelines. The added challenge was that the rear boundary of the site had a locally listed wall, which meant extra precautions were needed to sensitively design an extension that would maximise sunlight and enhance the home's overall aesthetic.
Approach
Demolishing the conservatory to make better use of the home and implementing a thoughtful layout, using modern materials that blend with the conservation area's character.
Solution
Adding a ground floor rear extension with a refined design that enhances both functionality and aesthetic appeal, creating a bright and inviting living space.
