Challenge
Creating a spacious new build house on a small infill plot while navigating the council’s strict planning requirements. Plus, we had to ensure the design maintained the streetscene and preserved the neighbours' access to natural light and privacy.
Approach
Pursuing a pre-application and working cooperatively with the planning officers to develop a sensitive design, justify the proposal, and create the greatest chance of securing approval.
Solution
In the end, we secured planning permission for a four-bedroom detached house. The finely crafted design makes the most of an underutilised space, while also adding a touch of sparkle to the streetscene with thoughtful attention to massing, setbacks, amenity space, parking provisions, and biodiversity.
