Robin Callister is Urbanist Architecture's Creative Director and a long-standing Member of the RIBA, with more than 20 years of professional experience across residential, healthcare, civic and mixed-use developments in both countryside and urban settings.
Known for combining creative ambition with careful judgement, he has built a consistent record of turning complex briefs into well-resolved architecture, grounded in a clear understanding that design quality, planning strategy, technical rigour and buildability must work together from the outset.
Every project benefits from his forensic attention to detail and his instinct for identifying the decisions that will make a lasting difference. Whether working on extensions and one-off homes or larger and more complex schemes, he provides the design leadership and strategic thinking needed to move projects forward with clarity and confidence.
That same sensitivity to context shapes his approach to Green Belt work and projects in sensitive edge-of-settlement and countryside locations, where as a Hertfordshire resident he brings direct personal insight alongside professional experience. He places people at the centre of the design process, ensuring the homes and spaces Urbanist Architecture creates are as liveable and buildable as they are visually compelling.
His standing extends well beyond the practice. A regular speaker at industry forums, he has contributed to some of the most respected development and policy events in the sector, and his commentary has been sought by publications including RIBA and The Telegraph.
He also serves as an external examiner for the RIBA Professional Practice in Architecture Part III, a role that reflects the regard he commands within the profession.
