Increase in Value
Increase in Cost Efficiency
Dormer loft conversions are a sensible and often inexpensive way to add that extra space along with value to your property. With successful layout arrangement and beautiful design, your loft could be transformed into a comfortable living space to capture space and light!
Some projects are pretty straightforward. This was one of those projects. Our clients came to us with a very specific proposal. Our job was to take their vision and transform it into a living, breathing reality. In a sense, the major challenge here was to execute the plan as efficiently and effectively as possible.
We knew our clients wanted to convert their loft specifically so the parents could have a space to escape from the world - a place for respite and rest. In addition, our clients were clear that they wanted to change the original master bedroom on the first floor into a playroom for the kids. Essentially, our clients had already charted a plan; we just had to complete it. To do that, we needed to follow, precisely, the guidelines for permitted development – one mistake could lead to a refused application. We also had to provide designs that actualised their goals. With these challenges in mind, we ventured forth with an L-Shaped Dormer Loft.
We knew our clients wanted to convert their loft specifically so the parents could have a space to escape from the world – a place for respite and rest. In addition, our clients were clear that they wanted to change the original master bedroom on the first floor into a playroom for the kids. Essentially, our clients had already charted a plan; our job was to take their vision and transform it into a living, breathing reality.
Because there has been an addition to the original house at the rear, known as two storey outrigger, we have advised our client to add an L-shaped dormer conversion, one dormer to be built on the rear roof and the other on the main roof, giving it the unmistakable, instantly recognisable L-shape. This type of build is a great way to get some more space out of a property like this especially if you own a mid-terrace property. Loft conversions have to be treated as more than just a box on a roof. They are to be the successful addition to your property that you want them to be. For this reason, we proposed a compelling loft conversion design to capture space and light, and the beautiful shades of neutral colours.
The new loft conversion layout incorporates an entirely new third level with a master bedroom, master bathroom and multi-functional office space. This additional space allowed our clients to transform their original bedroom into a play area for the kids, and with the added master bathroom, the family of four would no longer have to share one small restroom. In the end, our clients would be far less stressed in their day to day lives, and the value of their property would go way up. The result is fascinating - showing that loft conversions don’t have to be pokey, dark and lacking in style.
