Design is in Ella Macleod’s blood.

With an interior designer mother and a property developer father, Ella grew up in her family’s Auckland home reading floorplans at the kitchen table - and sensed from a young age that architecture might just be her calling.

Ella’s love for design blossomed during her school years, where she excelled in art and a range of other subjects. After graduation, she pressed pause on her design ambitions to pursue her other great passion - travel - and spent time exploring Southeast Asia and Europe, immersing herself in a rich variety of architectural styles and cultural influences.
This experience cemented her passion for design and inspired her to begin formal architectural studies once back home in New Zealand.

After completing university and gaining experience at an architectural studio in Auckland, Ella made the exciting decision to relocate to London. Since being here, she has built a reputation as a hard-working and highly creative architectural designer, known for her ability to foster genuine connections with clients and find fresh and clever ways to bring their visions to life.

Ella’s favourite part of the role - other than the rewarding problem-solving aspect - is the opportunity to meet and collaborate with so many different people and work together to create design solutions that impress, time and time again.

As a pivotal member of our team, Ella brings vibrancy, talent, and authenticity to everything she does, and we’re excited to see her continue to flourish at Urbanist Architecture.

“ I used Urbanist Architecture to support with the designs of our house which included an extension and changes to the interior. With a brief idea of what I wanted they provided some amazing designs and were always happy to accommodate my requests. Final designs went above and beyond what I had anticipated. ”

C. Llanes-Kidder — Oxford

“ I buy a lot of properties, use a lot of property development strategies and have tried many architecture companies in London through my long history with property investment. I have never seen support as professional, excellent or quick as I get from this architecture office. Nor I felt the kind of care, concern and desire to help meet-our-team I see with them. They are really one in a million! Many thanks. ”

Wills — Berkshire

“ Passion, creativity and personality; I think these three words can describe Urbanist Architecture's young architects team. They have done all the work for us and been with us from beginning to end till they handed us the keys to our new house.. Our families and friends loved the design and we can't thank you enough for making us the owner of this beautiful, flawless, prestigious house. ”

Lisa D. — Kent

“ The service we have received far exceeds what we were expecting. From the moment we made contact with Urbanist Architecture the service has been totally professional - they have been prompt with their response, did what they said they were going to do without any fuss and kept to time constraints. Would have no hesitation in recommending this organisation. ”

Glynn — London

“ Great staff who do what they promise from beginning to end. ”

Franklin C. — London

“ The team at Urbanist took time to understand our requirements and liaised very closely with in-depth analysis of the site and its potential. They came up with imaginative designs to fully utilise the site and used their excellent understanding of the local planning criteria to achieve a brilliant result. It's truly refreshing to work with a firm that is at the very top of their game! ”

A human-centric design approach is essential to creating spaces that truly enhance the way people live. For me, it’s the balance between creative expression and practical problem-solving that makes architecture so exciting.
