Scott believes the best planning outcomes come from understanding how decisions are made as well as knowing the policies behind them. Having worked in both local government and private practice, he brings a balanced perspective that helps clients navigate complex planning challenges with greater confidence.

As a Chartered Town Planner, Scott has worked on a wide variety of residential projects, from replacement homes and sensitive renovations to listed buildings and conservation areas. His experience spans both urban and rural settings, where careful planning strategy, clear communication, and sound judgement are often the difference between success and refusal.

At Urbanist Architecture, Scott is known for his thoughtful approach, attention to detail, and ability to find practical solutions to difficult planning problems. He enjoys working closely with clients, architects, and local authorities to build consensus, overcome policy constraints, and keep projects moving forward with clarity and purpose.

Outside work, Scott enjoys cycling, figure skating, and exploring Europe by motorcycle. A passionate music collector and vinyl DJ, he brings the same curiosity and enthusiasm to his interests outside planning as he does to helping clients realise ambitious projects.

“ Great team at Urbanist. Very experienced and I was blown away with my initial designs, which came out even better than expected. Cannot recommend them enough. ”

Faisal F. — London

“ You have been most kind to me!!! I will not hesitate to recommend Urbanist very highly to my friends and colleagues. ”

Javier F. — Hampshire
